Provenance & Authenticity
Signed Artist Certificates
Every artwork listed on northernart11 is acquired directly from the artist's studio. Each acquisition is accompanied by an original Certificate of Authenticity (COA) hand-signed and stamped by the artist.
What is included in the COA?
The Certificate of Authenticity serves as a legal document establishing proof of provenance. It includes:
- High-resolution catalog image of the painting
- Official title, medium, dimensions, and year of execution
- Artist's signature, thumbprint (if traditional), and date of signing
- A unique holographic registry number linking the physical painting to our database
Investment Verification
For high-end contemporary art collectors, maintaining provenance documentation is critical to the painting's long-term resale valuation. We recommend storing the certificate separate from the physical artwork in a fireproof document folder.
